Aspiring filmmakers will want to head to this First Thursdays at Deans. The monthly short-film installment will feature samples from cinema instructor Steve Mimss Austin FilmWorks. Todays selection includes Aunt Hallie, a comedy about an old Southern belle who finds a condom on her lawn, and god/man/accordion, a documentary exploring the life of a Polish native who survived Nazi occupation, joined the United States Army and eventually pursued the passion of his life, polka. There are also two comedies featuring the character Webb Wilder, a private eye who investigates everything from alien abductions in trailer parks to the seedy dealings of Southern mobsters. 9 p.m. Deans Credit Clothing, 314 Main.
