"Take Heart"

Did yesterday's Valentine's Day celebrations leave you in the mood for a little more romance? Stop by the Houston Potters Guild's latest exhibit, "Take Heart," and see love made out of clay. Along with jewelry and traditional and free-form pottery, you'll see Dorothy Broaddus's textured hearts. In velvety shades of blues, greens and purples, Broaddus's hearts, each one-of-a-kind, are made using the raku process, which uses combustibles rather than a [controlled] kiln to fire pottery. Raku is "very exciting, but it's somewhat unpredictable," says Broaddus.
